Hamilton Hall is the UK's only gay mens clothing optional hotel retreat for sexual, self and spiritual development and is in Bournemouth, on the south coast and close to the sea.
Since the new Equality Laws were introduced which gay men have been fighting for for decades, some homophobic people are using these new laws to discriminate - still - against gay venues not allowing straights in, and Hamilton Hall has been under investigation for some time by the commission for equality.
Here is the letter received this week from the commission:-
'Dear Mr. Bellamy
I am writing to let you know that the Equality and Human Rights Commission has decided not to take any enforcement action regarding your male only policy at Hamilton Hall.
Having read all submitted information from you, we believe that it is possible that men and women may reasonably object to the presence of the opposite sex in respect to your clothing optional policy.
The Equality Act does, in some circumstances, allow services to be restricted to a single sex where there is a possibility of such reasonable objections from service users. We now consider that this issue is closed and I would like to thank you for your time spent in correspondence with us.' --------------------
So the homophobe did not get what she wanted and Hamilton Hall is now the only legal men only venue in the UK and is clothing optional.
